2023 Women in Construction Forum

Our 2023 Women in Construction Forum was a Huge Success!

A great inspirational, insightful, impactful, and informative day was had by all delegates during our 2023 Women in Construction Forum on Friday, November 3. Thank you to MP Joanne Thompson, Minister John Abbott and Mayor Danny Breen for graciously greeting attendees of the Women in Construction forum. We appreciate your ongoing support in empowering women in the construction industry. Also, thank you to Matthew Mallam, NLCA Board Chair for bringing greetings on behalf of NLCA; to Valerie Penney, for chairing the event and welcoming everyone; and to Rhonda Neary for her innovative vision in creating this event to bring together a community of trailblazers.

The forum was not just about the structures we build, but the bridges we forge between each other, the knowledge we share, and the barriers we break. Throughout the business sessions, we explored the challenges that we have overcame, the achievements we’ve celebrated, and the strategies that have propelled us forward. It was a platform to learn, connect, and inspire. Engage with fellow delegates, dive into discussions, and seize the chance to network with accomplished professionals who share similar aspirations. Our panel, business sessions, and discussions were designed to provide delegates with insights that can transform their careers and ignite their passion for continued excellence. On behalf of the Board of Directors, President and staff of NLCA, we would like to thank all sponsors, guest speakers and delegates for your continued support ensuring the success of events such as this one. #NLCAWICForum2023

Thank you to MP Joanne Thompson for your recognition of our initiatives and strides that NLCA and our members are making as trailblazers.
“To build the future of our province, we all need to be at the table — and the worksite. And that is exactly what the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association’s Women in Construction Forum aims to address through increased representation in the trades. I had the chance to recognize their great work this week in the House of Commons.” – MP Joanne Thompson. Please click here to view her address in the House of Commons.
