The NLCA was founded in 1968 to serve as the “Voice of the Provincial Construction Industry”. We provide a forum through which members can discuss and resolve matters of common interest. Our goal is to coordinate and develop policies and programs that will enhance the professionalism, productivity, and profitability of members.

Our association currently has over 600 member firms, including general contractors, electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, heavy civil contractors, trade specialties, manufacturers, suppliers, safety professionals, owners, financial institutions, lawyers, insurance and bonding companies, and brokers.

We offer a variety of valuable services to our members, including:

  • Vital construction information through our innovative electronic plans room

  • Targeted education & training sessions designed specifically for the industry in our province

  • Networking events where members can have fun while growing their business contacts

  • Advocacy with all levels of government as it pertains to the construction industry

Objectives

The objectives of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association are:

  • Provide: 24/7 Online access to bidding opportunities in Newfoundland and Labrador, Daily bid result reporting, and Access to Planholder listings.

  • Advocate: To represent the commercial and industrial construction industry in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador at all levels of government and to ensure that the industry has input and influence into policy development.

  • Voice of the Industry: To liaison with businesses, professionals, and community organizations to ensure continued growth for the industry.

  • Mentorship: Through the development of education & training seminars, webinars and courses that address specific industry needs and emerging topics of relevance.

  • Networking: To provide networking opportunities for members including section meetings, Annual General Meeting, Regional General Membership meetings, golf tournaments, and social events.

  • Governance: To operate, for the benefit of members, a construction information service that facilitates sharing and viewing of construction opportunities.
