Learn how you can help promote change for women working in the skilled trades!
The first-ever National Strategy for Supporting Women in Trades was informed by a task force of more than 60 apprenticeship and skilled trades stakeholders from across Canada.
The intention of the strategy is to:
- Increase the number of women apprentices, journeypersons and supervisors where they are underrepresented in proportion to the total number in a skilled trades workplace.
- Create respectful and welcoming workplaces through meaningful policy and education. Workplaces should be safe, healthy, inclusive and equitable, free of harassment, bullying, and discrimination.
- The campaign goal is: 15% women’s representation in the skilled trades by 2030
CAF-FCA has committed to leading this initiative but success will only be achieved with all members of the apprenticeship and skilled trades communities working together. Be part of the solution by becoming a #CHAMPIONS4CHANGE!
Take the employer pledge to hire and train women apprentices & journeypersons, provide workplace education and make your worksites safe.
