CCDC Design-Build Contracts Half-day Workshop

Wednesday, August 28

8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) has developed two new design-build contract forms:

  • CCDC 14 – Design-Build Stipulated Price Contract
  • CCDC 15 – Design Services Contract between Design-Builder and Consultant

The Design-Builder provides the Design Services and performs the Work under one agreement, for a single, pre-determined stipulated or fixed price. Combining the design and construction functions from the outset provides a single point of responsibility and facilitates collaboration between the design and construction teams from the outset and for the duration of the project. There will be a detailed analysis of the roles and risk profiles of the Owner / Design-Builder / Design-Builder’s Consultant / Payment Certifier / Other Consultants / Owner’s Advisor. Other key topics include the Design-Builder’s liability towards Design Service, professional liability insurance requirements, etc.

Who Should Attend? Owners, executives and managers from construction buyers, architects, engineers, contractors, and allied professionals (lawyers, insurance/surety advisors) in the construction industry.

Valuable References: You will receive a hardcopy of CCDC 14/15 and the accompanying guides CCDC 44.
