Construction Law Series: Mechanics’ Lien

This is the third session in the Construction Law Series. Registration includes the three sessions.

This session will provide an overview on claims presentation, with specific considerations on holdback release and “work around”, and recent developments in the case law.

 

Instructors are practicing lawyers with the St. John’s office of Cox & Palmer:

Richard Gosse is a partner with a wide-ranging commercial litigation practice and is currently the provincial Chair of the CBA Construction Law Section (NL).

Justin Caines is an associate with a general legal practice that particularly focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency matters and construction and commercial litigation.

Allison Philpott is an associate who is building a general legal practice with an emphasis on bankruptcy and insolvency matters, and commercial litigation.

Lindsey Wareham is an associate who has a wide-ranging general legal practice with an interest in working with start-ups, entrepreneurs, corporations and not-for-profit organizations.

Series Cost: $83.34 plus hst for members; $590.00 plus hst for non-members. This course is subsidized by the Canada Job Grant for members of NLCA. The subsidy has been applied to the course cost already. Non-members may register at the full course cost.
